Richard Rohr's Daily Meditation:
Seven Themes of an Alternative Orthodoxy

Seventh Theme: Reality is paradoxical and complementary. Non-dual
thinking is the highest level of consciousness. Divine union, not
private perfection, is the goal of all religion (Goal).

Not to Be a Saint
Meditation 14 of 52

What is the source of your spiritual power? It’s radical union with
God, not just doing good things or holding a role or function.

Often we make the basis for ministry professionalism, education, and
up-to-date-ism, which are all good in themselves. But in the end, the
only basis for fruitful Christianity is divine union. Such people change
you and change the world. Leon Bloy said it well: “There is only one
sadness in life, only one—not to be a saint.”

Adapted from Radical Grace: Daily Meditations, p. 382, day 396

... love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
