Dear Jim,

I hope you'll like it here.  Here we like talking about centering prayer and basically anything that helps us in our spiritual journey.  We are not limited to Catholic point of view.  Personally I don't know how a person can truly understand a "Catholic" perspective unless they have something to compare it to.  We should be able to hold varying opinions without getting negative.

For a couple ideas, I'll SPAM in what I wrote to Detales earlier:

So jump in anywhere; the water is fine.  You might notice there a lot of old stuff around here; feel free to step over or wade in.  We only have a few "regular" posters at this time so we're pretty laid back and low bandwidth.

You might want to check your inner nerd at the door, and look at Lana's new movie review section.  We're in the middle of watching Stigmata together now, in six parts, and commenting as we go.  Feel free to join in there if the movie interests you.  (The non-techy zone is sympathetic to heart people who don't want to debate and explain things like head people.)  Note that the movie starts in another language while Fr. Andrew is investigation the weeping statue, but then it changes to English (with non-English subtitles).

Or check out Fr. Richard Rohr's daily email meditations.  He is a Fransciscan, has been a spiritual director for 30 years, and has a lot of practical advice for the Church you're not going to hear from the "trads."  We run one thread each week in the "Meditations on Spiritual literature" child board of the mysticism board.

We are also thinking of a couple other ways to rearrange the forum boards; it's kind of in flux now.  Like the non-techy zone is new, and I started a "members only" mysticism section I'm not sure what we'll do with.

Hi Jim; Long time no see! Glad to have you aboard.  Smiley

This is the effect of true charity, to be on good terms with all men, to consider no one your enemy, and to live at peace with those who hate peace.--Robert Bellarmine
