Here's how the rating system is set up.

I used the default values except for "hero member" which I might want to rename anyway because I'm not sure "hero" is the right word for the members with the most posts.  Grin

Moderators get five stars, the color depending on whether it is a global mod "power in all forums" or a local mod (power just in this one forum but normal in others without five stars) or admins, which are Matt and I.

after 50 posts you go from Newbie to Jr. Member. and get two gold stars instead of one
after 100 posts you go to Full Member, and get three gold stars.
after 250 you are Sr. Member and get four stars.
at this point I changed "hero member" from 500 to 2500, but I'm rethinking it.

I'm thinking may be some other better way to describe it.

That's the best suggestion I've heard so far on this matter.  I kind of like it.  Smiley

I wonder though whether that would make new poster fail to sufficiently respect those who have "been here a while" or if that's even a desirable goal.  Maybe posting is like growing up Ork -- where we kind of "grow up backwards" or something??  Do we need to study this further?

2500 posts is a lot like heaven: It's something we should all strive for.

Hmmm...

Maybe instead of "get-a-life" that would be more like a "found-a-life" poster?

Although I like the idea, it seems a wee bit harsh; especially since I might actually reach this.

Two alternate suggestions --- (1) Gabby  (2) Opinionated

Synonyms include "Frequently Contributing," "Raving", "vociferous"

OH WAIT --- I GOT IT ---- "LOQUACIOUS"

Yesssss! Knew I would nail it given a few minutes.

Dear Barb,

(Note:  Those ideas were of my Big Brother.  I claim them as my own only if they have a positive impact.)

Thank you Barb, of course if it pleases you, then I'm glad to have written it.  Grin

James -- I'm getting positive feedback from your idea.  Roll Eyes

That said, maybe "hero member" isn't such a bad idea.  I can't be having your idea be more popular than my own.

How about "Highly self-published" member?  hmmm.

Or, "Tower of Babble Club" member?  still seems to lack something....

Oh, I got one.  Yesssss.  "Seasoned Sower" club.  !!!!   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Or not?  Undecided

 Smiley Smiley Smiley

As lame as these smileys are, I do get spoiled at being able to have so many in a post.

Oh gosh.  I got distracted now and am already answering another post. I forgot what this one is about even, but I have to go to Mass soon so I'll answer the other one and get back to this later, maybe.  It is predicted I have a very full schedule today outside the forum.

Due to misinterpretation and/or misrepresentation of the term "it" and "is" I wanted to explain.

By "that's it" I meant "Eureka!  We have found the answer!" and other interpretations are not likely to be accurate renditions of the underlying Truth going on.  Grin
