Today is Epiphany.

I like the whole idea of epiphanies, so I'm planning on having at least one today.  Only question remaining is, what's the topic?

I'm playing these songs for 8 am Mass -- just the songs they're playing at the other Masses:

*We Three Kings of Orient Are
*The First Nowell (or as some write, Noel)
*Bread of Life from Heaven
*Songs of Thankfulness and Praise

I got your topic.

First, the definition.

a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

How about a sudden realization that today is not the Epiphany.

The Epiphany is the 12th day of Christmas, i.e. January 6th. You are 3 days early.

Close, but like a sneeze I can't ... quite ... get ...  Shocked

For all my intents and purposes today was, since today we sang Epiphany responses and I played Epiphany-ish music.  Cool

I always loved We Three Kings of Orient Are, so I'm glad that you played this, Alan.
I never noted 'Nowell,' and I assume that it's the earlier English of the 17th century?

I just heard a cool quote:

"When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
