SOP means Standard Operating Proceedure.
I learned this in Manhatten, when I worked there.
Seemed reasonable to me, to have a book with
Standard Operating Proceedure at hand.
Hmmmmm. I just thought of something.
God has an SOP, too. The scriptures.
"Love one another as I have loved you."
This comes after "I am the Lord thy God."
'Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
I remember clearly John making a point of saying
that Jesus said "Love others as I have loved you."
"Forgive your enemies." Which I take to mean not having
warm feelings toward them, but rather praying for them
and wishing all good to them, praying, too, for their salvation.
This is setting the bar pretty high. But to love in this way
is to love as God loves.

Most interesting ---
Reen -- somehow your reply to my SYSOP and $ vs # reply was overwritten by your reply.
It says I wrote the reply but has your message that you signed.
I wonder where my message went? That great big bit bucket in the sky?

I think I know what happened. I went to quote part of what you had said,
and I removed all the other sentences - and in doing so, that rest
of your post - the largest part of - went out into cyberspace.
I didn't realize that I had done this until I read your post.
Sorry 'bout that, James.
Usually, I highlight and copy from the
post itself, on the board - and then paste and turn the letters blue.
This time I went the quote route, and managed to delete most
of what you had written.
If I'm quoting a 'picture' I will use the quote function, but this
time, with text, I messed it all up. Please accept my apology, James.

xD Well... I don't typically wear colanders, but they're certainly quite useful. =P
And yes, I'm unit 4 (of 6).
Four . . . isn't that a lovely number? =]
Dad used to use our unit numbers to determine who would "lead" our nightly prayers. He'd take the date and divide it by six . . . the remainders indicated the leader.
Remainder of 1 = Matt
Remainder of 2 = Chris
Remainder of 3 = Catherine
Remainder of 4 = Emily (me!)
Remainder of 5 = Monica
Remainder of 6 or 0 = Andrew
For example, today is the 17th. So,
17 / 6 = 2 remainder 5.
Thus, Monica would lead. =]

They are useful. They protect us noids from tachyon field emissions while posting on any computer bulletin board.
Aluminum foil makes a good substitute. When Catherine and I were both noids (while living in the apartment) I had a photo taken with me in the colander and her with aluminum shield. I understand that is a fully capable substitute.
Wow. I haven't read this thread, and didn't know it was growing so long (but not surprised). I'll have to spend some more time online to see what's going on.

Hi Emily,
Guess you got to the library again. Hope this means you will be a regular on here.
Uncle James
Reens,
Better get that digital converter box for those rabbit ears, the metal ones, that is. Only about 3 months to go.

We have digital cable now, so it will not effect us in
having to get somnething totranslate the changes.
But how nice it would be for a huge wall mounted tv,
and stereo system...
*wake up Lana*
